My husband, Coach Nelson was diagnosed with depression 7 years ago. It took a toll not only on our relationship, but on our bodies too. Because of the anti-depressants and because he couldn’t even fathom getting a workout in, Nelson gained over 30 pounds.
During this challenging time of our lives, I was doing my best playing the role of the supportive, loving wife...I gained what I like to call “sympathy weight”.
(Think of the husband gaining weight, while the wifey is pregnant...but in reverse!)
Although, I was exercising, I ate what my husband ate...junk, junk and more junk:(
Soon, my jeans were WAY too snug that I could no longer squeeze my thighs into them, I hated the way my belly bulged in all of my nice, fitted tops and I felt tired ALL the time.
With my five foot frame, I was tipping 130 pounds!
Through regular therapy sessions, my husband slowly weaned off the anti-depressants and found the motivation to workout again through a loving (but rude) awakening!
A family member, who had not seen Nelson in a long time came to our door and said, “WOW! Nel, you got FAT!” He also said, he always looked up to him, because before being diagnosed with depression, Nelson was always fit and slim. That true (but blunt) statement, was enough to give Nel the kick in the butt to start working out again.
But of course, we both knew working out wasn’t the only answer to losing all the excess body fat we had. We needed to cut out all the junk food. And for my husband, it meant going to C.A (Chips Anonymous).
I’m proud to say he is a recovered “Chip-aholic”
But for some reason during our transformation, we had a really difficult time not falling back to eating comfort food. The negative voices in our head, kept influencing us to stay in bed “a little longer” and skip working out, or to over indulge every single weekend.
We didn’t know we were falling victim to our “bound nature”, the automatic negative thoughts (a.n.t.s) in our head.
Through years of working through our own negative mindset, reflection, journaling and coaching, both Nelson and I decided to become certified mindset specialists and we are truly honoured to say we have helped hundreds of people evolve into the strongest and healthiest versions of themselves.

Our Nutrition 101 Guidelines may in fact enhance your current plan. With practical tips such as drinking more water and portion control, you will reap the benefits of this module.
We will provide Nutrition Modules and Guidelines to build your meal plan based on your answers from filling our Nutrition Questionnaire.
The workouts range from 30-45 minutes. We will recommend completing the weight training workouts first, followed by HIIT workout for maximum fat burning results.
Yes, we have modifications for our workouts and can scale the workouts to your fitness level.
